Like many of our clients, our Mildmay customers were a young family who had just moved into the area. Having sold their flat in London, they were moving to Romford with a bit of capital behind them, and were seeing this as their first stop on the property ladder.

With two bedrooms for their kids downstairs, they wanted to create a master ensuite in the loft. A perfect retreat each night. Having their own luxury triple-sized bedroom is always going to be a bonus. But when it comes to the resale of the house, a master ensuite is also going to add serious value.

With properties of this sort, a full width dormer loft conversion was the only way to go. This is the best way to utilise and increase the loft space. Complete with a juliet balcony, you can guarantee there will be no shortness of natural light, as well as a view over the length of their considerable garden.

The bedroom itself was finished in a contemporary, yet understated fashion. Soft fuchsias, pinks and creams, all blended harmoniously together to give the bedroom a feeling of lightness and airiness. This pallet also helps to increase the visual size of the room.

What we love about ensuites in the loft is that you can really play with design, whereas elsewhere in the house it may feel a little disjointed. This loft was no exception. Going for an almost retro theme, the walk-in shower and his and hers sinks add a touch of luxury to proceedings.
