With a focus on making the most of available space, this Cockfosters loft conversion features one of our favourite ensuites.

Though we didn’t have a great deal of room to work with, we had more than enough to create a great children’s bedroom for our clients’ expanding family. A self contained unit complete with luxurious bathroom, it’s also a great place to host relatives whenever they happen to appear!

With the bedroom area, we wanted to keep the room as clean and clear as possible without making it feel soulless. In order to achieve this we went with shag carpet, which always adds a richness to any room. Comfortable underfoot, it’s also a great way to retain some warmth in winter.



A simple chest of drawers has more than enough space to house the young girl’s clothes, and tucked away behind the stairway wall, it doesn’t encroach too much on the rest of the room. With a balcony overseeing a local park, there’s not only a great view, but a real sense of airiness that small loft conversions like this can lack.

However, it’s the bathroom that we really want to shout about.

Tucked away on the other side of the stairway wall, we wanted to give ourselves enough space to create an ensuite that would really wow. Completed with underfloor heating and a really spacious walk in shower, we went for ceiling to wall tiles for a little touch of luxury. With dimmable spotlights in the ceiling, the bathroom has a warm, inviting glow. Perfect for those cold and early winter starts that everyone struggles to deal with.


As these loft conversions can often get quite cold, jutting out from the rest of the house, we used A+ grade windows and doors in order to ensure the best thermal efficiency possible.
